In our new initiative to engage communities across Houston, LINK Houston is excited to announce our Transportation 101 Workshops. In our first workshop with Rice University’s Civic Duty Club, we gave students an overview of the barriers to equity that exist in our city.
We focused on local transportation issues, our data analysis, and advocacy opportunities related to our programs on transit, walking/biking, and highway infrastructure. The students presented comments on several issues to City Council on January 15, including asking the elected officials to do more on pedestrian/bicyclist safety in the Rice University area.
We would love to bring our Transportation 101 workshop to your organization’s meetings and are open to hosting them independently as well. If you are interested in joining us in in our advocacy efforts, and would like to attend or host a workshop, please contact us.
