LINK Houston Community Engagement Specialist Andret Rayford recently met with longtime Old Spanish Trail/South Union (OST/SU) resident and former city planner Paulette Wagner for a walk through the neighborhood. On the walk, Ms. Wagner identified the mobility challenges and needed improvements in the area. The SEHTA GO Neighborhood-led “Strollin’ and Rollin’” project has increased bike signage and bike lanes in the OST/SU area. Challenges remain as sidewalks are located only on the right side of the street in many segments and do not connect through the entire neighborhood.

We are assisting Ms. Wagner and her neighbors with documenting the unsafe street conditions; gathering data to understand the trends in the neighborhood compared with other locations; and advocating for improvements by the City.

With increases in COVID-19 vaccination rates in our area, we are officially open to meeting in person with safety precautions. Please contact us if you would like to schedule a walk through your neighborhood. We would love to visit!
