Houstonians don’t walk, and only the brave few bike for recreation. That’s the refrain we hear, though it couldn’t be further from the truth.
One way we know? Crash data. Over the last five years, vehicles crashed into more than 8,700 people walking and biking across Houston, based on LINK Houston’s analysis of Texas Department of Transportation data. In other words, there are thousands of people walking and biking on Houston’s streets.
