We at LINK Houston understand the important role that public transit and affordable transportation options play in equal access to opportunity. This is why we’ve made it our mission to advocate for equity in transportation and work alongside you and with our elected officials to change policies to minimize barriers to economic and social opportunities in under-resourced communities.
We are grateful that Mayor Sylvester Turner recognizes the important role of advocates in effecting change and honored that he proclaimed February 4, 2019 “Transit Equity Day” in Houston, TX. We also thank Councilmember Amanda Edwards for her kind remarks to observe this important occasion and all of the work she is doing to improve transportation policies in the Greater Houston area.
