LINK Houston Welcomes New Executive Director

Houston, TX – LINK Houston is excited to announce Gabe Cazares as the organization’s new Executive Director. Prior to joining LINK Houston, Cazares led the Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities for the City of Houston, where he oversaw the accessible and timely delivery of city services, programs, and activities for over 215,000 Houstonians with disabilities. Previously, he managed legislative efforts at the National Federation of the Blind in Baltimore, Maryland and currently serves as a presidentially appointed Private Citizen Commissioner on the U.S. AbilityOne Commission: An Independent Federal Agency.

“We are delighted to announce the hiring of Gabe Cazares as our new Executive Director. Gabe is an accomplished leader with a passion for equity and commitment to social justice. His extensive expertise in organizational management, advocacy, and program execution, along with his lived experience as a disabled LGBTQ community member, make him an ideal fit to lead LINK Houston’s next chapter,” said Amanda Timm, LINK Houston’s Board Chair.

“I’m thrilled to join LINK Houston, the premier advocacy organization for transportation equity in our region. LINK Houston plays a vital role in ensuring that the needs of all who walk, bike, and roll are prioritized at every level of government. I look forward to leveraging the organization’s policy, advocacy, and coalition building capacities to continue demanding the pedestrian-centered Houston we deserve,” said Gabe Cazares.

LINK Houston advocates for a robust and equitable transportation network so that all people can reach opportunity. The organization envisions a community fabric where all people have the freedom of mobility to access the opportunities their vibrant communities offer. To make that vision a reality, LINK Houston supports transformative and inclusive policies, systems, initiatives, and infrastructure development that connect people to opportunity by transit, walking, rolling, and biking. LINK Houston moves ideas into action through community engagement, research, and shaping public policy.
